Ishwar Dutt Sharma has been elevated to the role of Executive Vice President (EVP) & Head – Talent Academy at Niva Bupa Health Insurance, marking a significant leadership milestone as the organization continues to strengthen its talent development and leadership capability-building agenda.

In this role, Ishwar will lead the Talent Academy function, focusing on learning & development, leadership effectiveness, sales capability enhancement, workforce readiness, distribution innovation, and creating a future-ready talent ecosystem aligned with the company’s growth strategy.

Ishwar brings over two decades of extensive experience across sales leadership, talent development, distribution management, learning & development, and organizational transformation within the insurance industry.

He has been associated with Niva Bupa Health Insurance for over six years, where he has held multiple leadership positions including Head – Sales Academy & Distribution Initiatives, National Head, Senior Vice President & Zonal Head, and Vice President & Zonal Head. During this tenure, he has led business growth, sales capability building, talent nurturing, onboarding excellence, and distribution innovation initiatives across the organization.

Prior to Niva Bupa, Ishwar spent more than 12 years with Apollo Munich Health Insurance Company Ltd. (now HDFC ERGO HEALTH INSURANCE), where he held several key leadership roles including Associate Vice President – Retail Agency Sales, National Head – Digital Offices, National Sales Head – NCD Plans, Territory Head, Territory Manager, Associate Manager, and Branch Head. He played a pivotal role in agency business expansion, digital distribution models, cross-selling initiatives, and sales leadership across multiple regions.

Earlier in his career, he worked with Bajaj General Insurance as Office Incharge and with Royal Sundaram General Insurance as Relationship Officer, building a strong foundation in insurance sales, customer engagement, and distribution management.

With a distinguished track record in sales transformation, talent development, leadership coaching, and business growth, Ishwar is well-positioned to lead Niva Bupa’s Talent Academy and drive the next generation of leadership and capability-building initiatives.
