Dr. Tathagat Varma has been appointed as Vice President & Head of Global Capability Centre (GCC), India at Ralph Lauren, marking a significant leadership milestone in his distinguished career spanning artificial intelligence, engineering leadership, digital transformation, and global capability centers.

In this strategic leadership role, Dr. Varma will lead Ralph Lauren's India GCC, driving engineering excellence, AI-led innovation, digital transformation, and the expansion of global technology capabilities to support the company's worldwide operations.

Prior to joining Ralph Lauren, Dr. Varma founded Cognitive Chasm, where he advances thought leadership in Generative AI through his pioneering Theory of Cognitive Chasms.

Earlier, he served as Global TechOps Leader at Walmart Global Tech, leading enterprise-wide digital transformation, cloud modernization, and technology initiatives across Walmart's global operations. Before that, as Vice President – Strategy & Chief of Staff at Walmart Global Tech India, he spearheaded technology strategy, enterprise agile transformation, innovation programs, and GCC operations. He also served as Country Manager at NerdWallet, where he established the company's India technology operations.

Dr. Varma holds a Doctorate in Business Administration (Artificial Intelligence) from the Indian School of Business (ISB) and has completed an executive AI program at Stanford University. He is also the author of the upcoming book on the Theory of Cognitive Chasms, focused on enterprise adoption of Generative AI.

With proven expertise in AI, engineering leadership, GCC strategy, enterprise technology, and digital innovation, Dr. Varma is exceptionally well-positioned to lead Ralph Lauren's India GCC into its next phase of growth and innovation.
