Sunil Rao has been appointed as Managing Director – India at Roblox, marking a strategic move as the company strengthens its presence in one of the fastest-growing digital markets globally.

In this role, Sunil will lead India strategy, market expansion, partnerships, and ecosystem development, driving growth and accelerating Roblox’s vision in the region.

Sunil joins from Amazon, where he most recently served as Head of Strategy & Corporate Business Development for APJ and China, leading high-impact partnerships, investments, and growth initiatives across ASEAN, Japan, Korea, India, and Greater China. He played a key role in identifying and executing strategic opportunities for long-term business expansion across multiple Amazon businesses.

Prior to Amazon, he held leadership roles at Google, Lightspeed India, and Nokia, where he contributed to building startup ecosystems, driving developer relations, and scaling strategic partnerships.

With over two decades of experience across technology, venture capital, and digital ecosystems, Sunil brings deep expertise in business strategy, innovation, and market development, positioning him well to drive Roblox’s growth in India.
